About six months ago I started educating myself about the “stuff” that is in processed foods. Mainly, high fructose corn syrup. I am not going to get into why it is bad for you. What I will say that with hypothyroidism, it is best to stay away from it as much as you can. I can’t say I have cut it out of my diet 100%, but I have started making more food from scratch to limit the amount we consume. Continue reading

Posted onCheesecake Stuffed Strawberries!
Posted onI love strawberries. And I LOVE cheesecake. So when I saw the recipes on Pinterest for them, I thought, “Wow, that looks sooo good!”
I know there are a lot of different recipes for these out there, so I went and did it my own way, which was quick and easy.
First, I got out my strawberry huller. I have this one which makes the job fast. Wash and hull the strawberries.
Review: Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer
Posted onOne of my symptoms of Hypothyroidism is dry skin. It is a vicious circle…I get itchy, scratch, get terrible red marks, and then it gets itchy again. I can’t tell you how many times that has happened in the middle of the night. I wake up with red scratch marks all over my legs. I am always looking for that moisturizer that is both long-lasting and not too messy. When I saw the commercial for Vaseline’s new spray moisturizer, I got excited. This could be the answer I was looking for. So I went to the store to check it out. There are 3 formulas:
Where was I???
Posted onMy apologies for being AWOL. It has been a crazy few weeks. It’s funny – time really does fly. I would swear it has only been a week since my last post but it has been more like 3! Time to make sure my blog time is in my calendar. A few weeks ago, I starting consulting with a great person that has been taking up some of my time. More to come on that at a later date.
I had also been getting ready for our trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, or OBX as many know it. My husband’s family gets a house together and we chill out for a week. It was a great time. The weather was a little sketchy at first – it was chilly when we got there. But it ended up being in the mid-70’s all week – perfect for the beach and heated pool. We stayed in a house called Malaikas.
I love Diaper Cakes!
Posted onA few years ago when I was invited to Jay’s relative Nichole’s baby shower, I was so excited. I had always wanted to do a diaper cake, and there was the perfect chance! I looked up a bunch of them on the internet to see what to do. A lot of them had similar instruction, just different decoration. It looked easy enough, so I gave it a try.
And here it is…

Bath Seat Basket
Posted onHere is a baby shower gift I put together for my friends Mike & Monique, the same people who got the Duck Towel Cake. I had decided on a bath time theme with this bath seat being the “basket”.
Isn’t It Ducky?
Posted onI love parties. Any party. Direct sales parties, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, anniversaries – all of them. I have never met a party I didn’t like. And I love to get creative with my gifts. So I thought the best way to start this journey was to post about some gifts I have done for people. This post is for the towel cake I did for my friends Mike & Monique. I wanted to do something different for their bridal shower and this took the cake! It was definitely the hit of the shower, and are elegant AND useful. Here it is…
